No. This time is wasn’t Guerrero or Paulinho to take Flamengo for the win against Joinville at the Maracanã Stadium in front of a little over 52,000. The stars from the game came from the bench. Ayrton and Gabriel were the not so expected heroes for the night; both players skills and commitment were starting to be questioned by the supporters until yesterday night. When Pará got injured still at the first half, Ayrton was given a chance, a few minutes later he scores a beautiful upper 90 goal. The first thing that comes to mind is back in 2001 when Petković scored against Flamengo’s biggest rival at the same upper 90 Ayrton scored.
The game was even more special for Gabriel who hadn’t had the opportunity to play since the arrival of the new coach Oswaldo de Oliveira, at the end of  August. Got in 12minutes left for the end of the match, but time wasn’t a problem, Gabriel scored less than 1 minute later over the goalkeeper.

Oswaldo de Oliveira mentioned at the end of the game he feels optimistic regarding the future of the team, who is currently fighting for G-4 and classifying to the South American cup. Flamengo who was has been considered one of the favorites to be in the top 4 in the past month, but had a streak of 3 loosing games that mathematical speaking decreased there chances, but with a new win the team might just launch off with remaining 9 games in the league.
